I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did rent it on DVD. I can tell you that it has a lot of science fiction elements in it, as well as some horror. It's not really a horror movie, but I think it has elements that are similar to some horror movies.
The film is about the discovery of the MUTO (Massively Unstable Transdimensional Organism). The US military sends several people from a special unit to the island to try to get information about the MUTO, which is on the island. They are joined by two other highly trained people from the US military. One of them is a psychic, but it's not really a psychic movie.
I thought the acting was great, and the special effects were nicely done. The special effects are good in this movie, but not as good as in other movies. I think it's because the movie is set on an island where there isn't much of an outside world to look at. The MUTO are CGI, but they are very well done CGI.
