After high school, Cleo attended college at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she studied English and was a member of the university’s improv comedy troupe The “Ding Dongs.” She continued to write short stories and poems throughout college, but it wasn’t until she was 22 years old that she decided to pursue her writing full time.
Cleo found success very quickly in Hollywood, working as an assistant to several producers and directors over the years. She had a working relationship with her mentor, actress Jennifer Connelly, and also worked with producer John Carpenter and director Tim Burton. She also created “The Cleo Show,” a popular television show on the now defunct Style Network in the 1990s.
