"This is the most interesting thing to happen in the show," he said. "When I came on board, I was cast as a sheriff, and that's very much a type of character that I'm not. So it was very important to me to have a dynamic relationship with Miranda as opposed to being a man in a woman's suit."
Miranda is far more assertive in the role, which is something that suits her personality.
"She's very opinionated about her own life and her choices, so that was easy for me to be comfortable with," she said. "But then there's also the aspect of being a mother, and I think that's something that everyone can relate to. It's very difficult to manage your own life, especially when it becomes more complex with children involved."
In addition to playing Miranda, Jamie has many other roles on the show, including Carl, who is an optimistic and enthusiastic man who loves his wife and family. He also has a cameo appearance as one of the mysterious masked men who are pursuing the group.
