I use many of the same techniques as Linda in my hypnotherapy clinic.
I don't suggest that people become "Nega" during the course of therapy. Rather, the goal is to help people recognize the difference between their natural persona and their "mask of negative emotions" (p. 80).
This is a very important distinction.
Hypnotic regressions are techniques that help people recognize negative behaviors that they have used to try to deal with negative feelings in the past. For example, I might have a client who was abused as a child. In the past, she might have tried to avoid her feelings of anger by yelling at her children.
I might have her re-experience the abuse and see her yelling at her kids and be able to see that it wasn't really her, but rather, the "Nega personality" that she had learned as a child.
