Lacroix’s life was a story of ups and downs. “There were many times when he felt like giving up. But he never did.” Lucas Lacroix overcame a lot of hardships in his life and continued to rise. He had a solid childhood and upbringing, which prepared him for what he was about to go through. He had a challenging relationship with his father, and grew up without a mother. He made it into the pre-med program at UC Berkeley, but dropped out because he was bored out of his mind. He studied business and finance at San Francisco State University and transferred to the University of California, Berkeley where he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
After graduating, Lacroix went to work for the American Securities Corporation and later for the State of California. He then worked for the California State Board of Equalization for 17 years. He worked there as a senior analyst on the budget staff. He then went to work for the United States Department of Agriculture in the Office of Policy Analysis, where he worked on federal farm policy and crop insurance.
