Q personality type is ISTJ, (which has the I as the dominant function) and there's a tendency to be very linear, very factual, very conservative and a bit of a loner. ISTJs are very good at planning and organizing things, and can be fanatical about rules and schedules, which can lead them to being a bit authoritarian. They like things to run smoothly, and often tend to have quite traditional family values.
The ISTJ's dominant function is the Introverted Sensing (Si) function. This is a more technical function than the other functions, and you can read about it here. Si is a very practical, realistic function, which is good at seeing patterns and systems. It can perceive the big picture and see how everything fits together, but it can be quite rigid in its thinking and sometimes not as good at dealing with the details. It prefers to be in control and can be quite a perfectionist, but it's also quite loyal and devoted to its friends.
The ISTJ's auxiliary function is Extraverted Thinking (Te). This is a more positive function than Introverted Sensing (Si), which is why they're better at the practical aspects of life.
