"A lot of people think they're INFJs, but they're really feeling like INFJs," she says. "There's a huge difference between the two types. INFJs tend to be more introspective, whereas INFPs tend to be more extroverted, and they are both sensitive and imaginative. The INFJ nature is less obvious."
People with the INFJ personality type may not be obviously emotional, but they tend to have a wide range of emotions. They also have a deep-seated need to be needed, to feel part of a group and to help others. "They tend to need more affection than others, and if they don't feel that from their families or friends, they may turn to books or other people as a source of that," Hallion says. "They're good listeners, and they like to have their ideas and thoughts validated."
"We don't know how this relates to the disorder," she says.
