One of the first things you’ll notice about each personality type is that they have a dominant function. In the case of SJs, this function is extraverted (E) sensing. This means that SJs tend to be more externally oriented in their thinking and interacting with people. The other four personality types are SJs. So we can say that all SJs are E-SJs.
The way in which SJs think and process information has something to do with their dominant function. Their dominant function makes it easy for them to think and make decisions based on external facts. The SJ’s dominant function also gives them a high degree of abstract thinking and logic.
In addition to being more externally oriented, SJs are relatively action-oriented. They tend to be motivated to achieve goals and accomplish tasks. They may be impatient and easily frustrated by delays or obstacles along the way to their goals.
SJs don’t usually think about long-term consequences, but instead focus on the immediate value of what they are doing.
