Is Freddy a good person? Well, the answer to that is actually complicated. One of the things that makes Freddy a really interesting character is that he is a complex person. In the beginning, he is a good guy. He helps people that are in trouble, especially children. He does this because he does not want that same fate to happen to his victims. He does not want to be the one who kills children and their parents. He wants to hold them and tell them they will be okay and he will save them.
Unfortunately, as the story progresses, we find out that Freddy does not care about children at all. He sees them as nothing more than little toys and playthings for him to manipulate and torture as he sees fit. He kills them and enjoys it. He has no sympathy or compassion for them whatsoever. He just wants them dead.
As the story goes on, the reader begins to sympathize with Freddy. He does seem like a victim of childhood abuse, even though we know that he is not.
Freddy Krueger is a fictional character in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series. He first appeared in Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street as the spirit of a serial killer who uses a gloved hand with razors to kill his victims in their dreams, causing their deaths in the real world as well. In the dream world, he is a powerful force and almost completely invulnerable. However, whenever Freddy is pulled into the real world, he has normal human vulnerabilities and can be destroyed. The character was created by Craven and was consistently portrayed by Robert Englund in the original film series as well as in the television spin-off. In the 2010 franchise reboot, Freddy Krueger was portrayed by Jackie Earle Haley. In 2011, Freddy appeared as a playable character in the video game Mortal Kombat and in 2017 as a playable character in Dead by Daylight. Over the course of the series, Freddy has battled numerous survivors including Nancy Thompson and Alice Johnson.
