The hand pronouncement he does is "Zutoma Mayo" (ZUTOMAYO-ZANKI). It's like he's saying "Time left for what?" or "What's left for what?" I've been trying to paint the phrase "ZUTOMAYO" on a wooden board, with the letters standing for "Time left" and "What's left" as sort of a visual aid. It's meant to help me interpret this gesture.
And I think I've got it now, though this is only my interpretation. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've taken an interest in it.
