Edward Cunninghum personality type is INTJ, and also a big fan of the old "Star Trek" series. In fact, I think there is a direct correlation between his personality type and its modern incarnation, "DS9". Like "DS9", the INTJ personality type is logical and logical-minded. He is very much about goals and their results, and doesn't really like to waste time on anything else.

The Original Series was a logical extrapolation from original American historical events. "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was a logical extrapolation from the American experience after the end of the Cold War. "DS9" was more or less a logical extrapolation from the American experience after 9/11.
I've always found it interesting that while I don't really like "Star Wars", it is very logical in its extrapolations. It was never an analogy as much as it was a straight-forward extrapolation from existing Shinto mythology. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the logical extrapolation of the American experience since 9/11, and that is one of the main reasons I have been so interested in it.
