I have seen some confusion about this type because it seems to be a more common type than ISTP. This is by no means a certainty but it seems to me that the ISTP type is more often seen in a corporate setting whereas the St. Columba type is more often seen in an entrepreneurial setting.
Despite the fact that ST-C personalities have some of the same weaknesses as ISTP, they are not as prone to such weaknesses as they tend to work hard to overcome them. They are also likely to be more self-motivated than ISTP types. They also tend to be much more in touch with their emotions than ISTPs.
ST-C types are usually very successful in business and leadership roles but are often not as sensible when it comes to romance. They typically do not have the patience for the mundane aspects of relationships that ISTPs do. They also tend not to take any responsibilities for relationships as seriously as ISTPs do.
