At the time of Loki’s birth, his parents are lying on a couch on the floor of their hall, resting after having a son. Loki’s birth is prophesied by the gods and therefore it’s safe to assume that he was not born naturally. He is born fully formed and his mother gives him to his father because he doesn’t want to stay with her. Loki escapes and goes to live with the peasants in a nearby village. There he becomes one of their favorite children and starts to experiment with magic.
