Reverend Chichester personality type is ISTJ, which is what I would call a "theatrical" personality. He is very socially aware, but he is also a bit "sourpuss" in some ways. I can see how he could be difficult to get along with for some (especially the extroverts).
The reason I mention this is because I noticed that he is very spiritual! He talks about it at length, and it seems to be a huge part of his life. His wife, who was very sick at the time, said that she thought that the reason that he was so spiritual was that he was afraid that she might not live long enough to see him become a priest.
I also think that this played a role in their relationship. She was an introvert and he seemed to be the only extrovert that she could relate with or feel comfortable with. She didn't have the best life in some ways, and he seemed to be her only relief from it.
He is very "preachy" and has a very strong personality. He seems to be able to shut out most people in order to focus on his work.
