I've been working in IT for about 6 years now, and I have a good idea of the personalities that I work with. One of the things I've noticed is that the female employees are much more likely to be timid than the male employees, and the male employees are more likely to be aggressive. This is especially true of the introverted male employees like myself. The extroverted female employees are less likely to be timid, but they're still really more likely to be shy than the extroverted male employees.
I'm not sure how to explain why this is, but it seems like it has to do with female ESTPs being more likely to be dominant and male ESTPs being more likely to be submissive.
I would think this might also be related to our personal experience with our mothers. It seems like a lot of women experience their mother's as domineering, while for men it's their father's.
