Anyway, our friend this week is a full-time engineering manager at a Fortune 500 company. He's what you would call "normal" in his personality type, and he's far from neurotic.
His latest challenge?
He's been assigned to lead an international team of engineers on a project to build a new system that will allow users to search through all of the information on their company's website at once.
Before I address his problem, let me tell you a little about him:
He's an engineer, and he's a very good one. He's had engineering roles in operations, development, and product management for the last 15 years. He's a big fan of Agile methodologies (though he doesn't use Scrum), and he's known for being an innovator and an idealist.
He's also what you would call a "deeply analytical" type. He has a great memory for facts and figures, and he can sift through the data to find out what really matters.
