Sung Jun-su personality type is ISTJ, the Chinese equivalent of ISFJ, where the mother stays at home to care for the children. In the past, this has been the ideal for women and mothers in traditional societies.
But there is a growing awareness that both men and women should work outside the home, and that they should play an equal role in child-rearing.
According to a 2015 survey by the government-run Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, nearly 73 percent of South Korean women worked outside the home, and 41.3 percent of them were employed full-time. However, the percentage of part-time workers rose to 27.8 percent in 2015.
In 2016, the number of working women under the age of 30 was 72.2 percent, which is about 20 percentage points higher than in 2000. Still, a significant portion of women in this age group is still in the single-partner homes, where there is no need for them to work outside the home.
The average working hours of Korean women are also shorter than for men. According to the survey, women worked 42.1 hours per week on average last year, compared with 44.3 hours for men.
