To make a very long story short, I was a male with a female upbringing and gender identity.
I learned to be emotionally detached and to like it, because that's how I was raised.
I thought it was my personality, no one else could be this way.
I tried to make everyone around me like me, because I thought that's what being liked is all about.
For the longest time, I didn't feel that I deserved love, or friendship, or anything for that matter.
If I wasn't liked by someone, it was my fault.
My fault that they didn't like me, my fault that I wasn't good enough to be liked, my fault that I was unlovable.
I didn't feel any emotions at all, so I tried to mask them.
It worked for the longest time, but sometimes emotions just sneak up on you and you won't be able to stop them from coming out.
And then you start to feel all those emotions you've been holding back for so long.
And it becomes devastating to deal with.
