Raimundo Nonato is a poet and writer. He has published 9 books of poetry, as well as writing for a wide variety of newspapers, magazines, and websites. His poetry has been published in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, Literary Hub and many others.
Nonato was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1972. He studied at the University of Brasilia and the University of São Paulo. He is currently a professor at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) where he teaches Brazilian Literature and Literary Theory.
Life and Work
Raimundo Nonato’s poetry has been published in many countries including the United States and Brazil. He was the first Brazilian poet to publish a book of poetry in English, and he has since published nine other collections of poems. One of his most recent books of poetry, "The Formal Garden", was released in 2014.
Nonato’s work also includes three novels.
