Riley personality type is ISTP, but I’m not sure that matches up with the ISTP stereotype. ISTP is one of the rarer personality types, and it tends to be one of the less understood types.
I believe that ISTP often has a more difficult time than other types in learning how to socialize. They are often quiet and private and prefer to observe social interaction from a distance. They may not even realize that they are socializing, because they have been in a “TV” mode that allows them to observe, but not participate.
But ISTPs can learn to socialize. As they mature and learn how to interact with others, they can become more comfortable and interested in doing so. They can be very good listeners because they are very interested in learning about other people.
I think ISTP’s are some of the most fun to work with because they are interested in exploring new things. They are excited about new experiences and can be willing to try new things.
They are often more difficult to deal with because they are more focused on their own thoughts and feelings and less focused on the feelings of others. They can be very private and may not want to speak up in meetings.
