The answer, from an INFJ, is the character of the Counselor, played by the late River Phoenix in the film Stand By Me. I especially enjoyed his sensitivity and vulnerability as he was forced to face a terrible tragedy. He was also a role model for his faith and his loyalty to his friends.
I will feature this character in a future article after I have read the novel, The Counselor, by Cormac McCarthy. That book is about a group of friends who are on a long road trip from New Mexico to Florida to visit a childhood friend, when they are pulled over by border patrol agents who want to deport them and arrest their friend. The protagonist, Cormac McCarthy, wrote this book after being deported from the United States as an undocumented immigrant in 1997. He also wrote the book All the Pretty Horses, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1992. The film adaptation of All the Pretty Horses won three Academy Awards, including Best Director for Clint Eastwood. His fourth book, The Border Trilogy, won the National Book Award in 2006.
