Jungian personality types are about definitions of self, and that is what I find when I do my analysis of the actual personality type description. ENFJs, as described, are defined by their clear sense of self, and are driven and devoted to defining themselves as something other than themselves. It is not a matter of being focused on themselves, but rather on shaping the world around them into something that is defined by values they hold dear. They seek to influence others around them to conform to their values. They are driven to create an environment around them where everyone feels good about themselves, and that environment is one defined by self-expression and self-actualization.
