Who was the first person with whom you shared a deep, personal trust? Did that relationship leave an impact? Who were you closest to in your family?
My first deep, personal trust was my best friend. We met in seventh grade, spent every minute of high school together, and went to the same college. We did everything together – we travelled the world together, from the Canary Islands to France to Australia, and back to the Canary Islands. We shared so much; we both loved our parents and wanted them to love us, and we wanted everyone to like us. We never wanted to be hurt. We were so close that we used to have a contest to see who could stay awake the longest on a weekend, just so we could keep talking into the early morning hours. We had so much in common: we wanted to make a difference and be happy and kind people.
My closest relationship with my parents was probably when I was nine years old and I was having a hard time at school.
