He added that he would go to parties and have a lot of fun, but would have a hard time connecting with the people around him afterwards. He would feel as if he had been living a lie.
He realized that he had a problem when he decided to change his behavior. “I realized that I had been acting as if others were not there, which made me less social,” he said.
Vasily found that he was most comfortable around people who were like-minded. This led him to study psychology, and then work as a psychologist for a number of years.
