Besides the anime, I also prefer the manga for this series. The anime adaptation follows the manga fairly closely, but it's not perfect. It has some differences in the character personalities and story arcs, but most of the anime is faithful to the source material, so I don't mind it.
The music of this show is amazing. The opening theme, "Ai wo Sakebu" by Michi is one of my favorite songs of all time. It's just so uplifting and positive. I know that the ending theme, "Always" by Kana Hanazawa is actually better, but I like "Ai wo Sakebu" more because it's more uplifting and it makes me feel like I'm running through a field of flowers and sunshine.
The art style of the anime adaptation is fine, but not perfect. Sometimes it feels like they're trying to create a manga-like appearance (i.e. the way the characters' noses and mouths look), but it doesn't work all the time. The art style for this series is very reminiscent of other anime such as Lucky Star and Tokyo Mew Mew, which I think is a successful combination.
