Alpha Legion personality type is INTJ, and I think that pretty much sums it up.
The Black Legion would be a pretty good place to find an objective view of reality, much like the Space Wolves or the Blood Angels. If you happen to catch a glimpse of the Primarch himself, talk to him, ask him what he thinks about the current situation. He'll have an interesting perspective, I imagine.
I don't think it's a stretch to imagine that someone who is like a Chaotic Evil Edict would be a rather "black" character. That's just how the personality type typically is. If those legionaries are anything like their Primarch, then they'd be black. That's just how it works.
