After having a conversation with a friend, I was told that ISFPs are common among the religious Jewish community. I was surprised to learn this because I have no religious affiliation. I do, however, have a strong appreciation for nature and animals. Despite this, I am a pretty secular person. My mother is a Christian and my father is an Agnostic. It was through my father’s family that I had my first exposure to Christianity. I even went to church for the first time at the age of 12. However, I was never converted.
When I was 15 years old, I read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged for the first time. I was instantly knocked out by the novel and its main character. In high school, I was introduced to the writings of Abraham Maslow, Carl Jung, and Rollo May. They were all pioneers in psychology and had significant influence on my development as a person.
I also am an avid reader of philosophy and biographies. My favorite authors include Carl Sagan, Ayn Rand, and Kurt Vonnegut.
