The INFJ has an unmistakable ability to sense the sociopathic behavior of others. Although they may not intend to say what is on their minds, they are highly perceptive of the sociopath’s intentions. They are usually more interested in helping others, whether it is helping them with their personal emotions or helping them in some other way, than in seeking out the sociopath themselves.
Sociopaths can use this to their advantage, however, by pretending to be helpful or empathetic to get INFJs into their “bag of tricks.” The INFJ may then be led down the path of believing that they are unusually intelligent, more sensitive, empathetic, and more insightful than they actually are. This is especially likely to happen when the sociopath is trying to seduce an INFJ.
The INFJ personality type is particularly vulnerable to the manipulation of the sociopath. They are deeply committed to helping others and will often do so at great personal cost.
