Junius Watts personality type is ISFJ, which is why he acts more like a guardian and protector than a leader. He does tend to suppress his emotions, but he always does so in order to protect himself and the people he cares about.
Despite his cold, stony exterior, Junius is known to be very loyal and protective of those he loves. He was very close to his younger brother Dantrell, who was killed during the invasion of Earth by the Visser Three and Four. He was also close with his father, who died before the invasion. As such, Junius is very protective of those he cares about; however, he has been known to be rather harsh with those he feels are fools, since he doesn't feel they deserve his love or respect.
His loyalty also extends to his crew, and he is fiercely protective of them and will do anything to protect them from harm. This was demonstrated when he risked his life by attacking in the aftermath of Jesse's explosion, despite knowing she would get hurt. Also, when the crew were being tortured on Earth, he was willing to go through with a mission that likely would have resulted in his death in order to recover the ship's log from Earth.
