Delancey personality type is ESFP, which is one of my favorite types.
I think I know why she felt that way. She was never the type to say what she thought, especially if it was negative. So when you said that she had a negative outlook on life, it didn't surprise me at all.
I think part of the reason is her fear of rejection. It's ironic since she's so down to earth and so eager to share with others. I think this fear of rejection is what's causing her to put up a positive front and not be able to be her true and honest self.
I think you're right about the fear of rejection and trust issues. I would guess that she doesn't feel good when people don't like her or they don't trust her. I think this is one of her biggest problems and the reason why she doesn't like to share her opinions and thoughts with others.
She is very shy and introverted and this is another way in which she may not be herself. She may be uncomfortable in social situations, especially when they involve an audience or when she's in a group situation or when she has to speak in front of others.
