You have a long history of using your artistic skills to help people. What made you decide to do that?
I’ve always been a creative person, but my creative outlets have changed over the years. When I was a teenager, I was a dance artist and a musical theater actress. During college, I got into computers and started programming web pages and doing graphic design. When I was living in Florida, I worked as an art director for a company that makes ads for school districts. In 2004, I got married and had two kids, and it finally clicked for me that I needed to make my creative life a priority again. I started working on a few websites that were going to help artists with their careers. Then it occurred to me that this is what I should do for a living. So in 2008, I started my own website called ArtistAlarm.com, which is a tool for artists to promote themselves and their artwork.
