Mavis is very nervous, shy, and quiet; she rarely speaks directly to people, but rather often looks at them while trying to get their attention. She is quite knowledgeable of the supernatural world, having spied on many vampires in the town. She is also very curious about the other world, and often tries to find out more about it. She is not normally very suspicious of other people, but she is distrustful of vampires and other supernatural beings. She can be very shy and nervous around strangers, but once she knows you, she becomes very nice and friendly to you. Mavis has great knowledge of the vampire world, and is quite knowledgeable about the supernatural world. She mainly lives in her room at the O'Connor house, where she spends most of her time reading books about vampires. Mavis became friends with Betty after Betty's first encounter with Mavis's brother, Señorita Carmilla. She is also close with her brother; however, if someone does something bad to his sister, Señorita Carmilla, Mavis will try to help him (at least around her).
