Calling this a “love triangle” would be inaccurate. Throughout the story, the character of Ryou thinks he is in a “love triangle”, but the love he feels for Isli is not platonic. It’s a love he will never be able to reciprocate.
Similar to other stories, Isli does not come out of the story a “better person”. After all, she did commit suicide, and Ryou blames himself for her death. However, because of Isli’s sacrifice, Ryou was able to achieve his dream of becoming a man who can protect someone else’s life.
