The book is loosely based on the life of the real-life architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.
In the books, Lighsong's name is pronounced as "Lightsen". In the TV series, his name was changed to "Lightsong". In the books, Lighsong has blue eyes, but in the TV series his eyes were changed to light green. The character was created by Ayn Rand for the novel, but her husband, Frank O'Connor wrote a screenplay for a movie based on the novel.
