He is capable of living by instinct, not by reason or thought. He does not reason through things or analyze his situation. His environment doesn't matter to him. What matters to him is what happens next, not what happened five minutes ago. He is even willing to give up his life to protect his "pack" of pigs. He would rather die than be separated from the other pigs. He also does not have a thirst for revenge or hatred. He doesn't want that other pig dead, just dead enough. He doesn't care if the pig died by the hands of another pig. It's not revenge, it's survival. He is perfectly willing to let the other pig die, if it means saving his own life, or the life of the other pigs.
