Irid personality type is ISFJ, but I don’t think that’s a particularly accurate description of me. I think I have INFJ traits, but I also have INTJ traits and epistemology.
We have to start with the obvious. I am an INFJ. No debate. I am a textbook INFJ in the Myers-Briggs personality test, which is the most popular personality test in the world. I was born an INFJ, and my mother and father were INFJs. INFJs are rarer than you might think on average, but they are not as rare as they used to be. There are a lot more INFJs now than there used to be.
There is only one problem with that: INFJs are rare. Very rare. According to Myers-Briggs test creator Katharine Briggs, only 1% of the population is INFJ, and she probably overestimated it by a whole percentage point or two. There are about 3 million people on the planet, so 1% of 3 million is 300,000 INFJs. If you look at it from a different perspective, INFJs are about as common as Asperger’s Syndrome, which is about 1%.
