Marea is a minor character in Horizon Zero Dawn. She was a Nora Brave who lived in the Nora settlement of Mother's Crown. Like all Braves, she was ready to die in defense of the Nora territorial Sacred Lands. She got the type of death she wished for, dying in defense against an attack on the Sacred Lands by the Shadow Carja cult known as the Eclipse. Marea was born in the Nora settlement of Mother's Vigil, which later came to be known as the Forsaken Village after it was destroyed by the Carja in one of their raids on Nora Settlements, known as Red Raids. Marea was one of the few who escaped. She was fifteen years old at the time.
