In Reign of Starcraft 2, Tychus is a mercenary working for Raynor's Raiders. Raynor sends him to a planet to stop a Dominion invasion. Tychus defeats several Dominion soldiers and wins the battle. Raynor gives him a "hero's welcome" and a hero's bonus of 200,000 credits, but doesn't mention that he betrayed Raynor by killing the planet's leader, General Duke. Raynor then sends him to kill a Dominion shipyard, but Tychus leaves Raynor's Raiders after Raynor beats him for not helping defend the UNN outpost. Raynor later sends him to kill a Dominion commander and capture his personal ship. After capturing the ship, Tychus and Raynor go to a planet and convince the rebels there to join Raynor's Raiders. Raynor sends Tychus and his team to attack a Dominion supply depot and capture two enemy shuttles.
Tychus and Raynor do as Raynor tells them and attack the depot.
