Alexei Stepanov personality type is ISTP, most likely he's an ISFP. Kostya is ISTP too, but I'm not sure about Alexei, as he doesn't really seem ISTP to me. He's more like an INTP to me. I take at least two of the three ISTP types to be ISTP, but if you want to stick to what you think is the most likely type, then go with a type that is most similar to the personality you see in the series, which is an ISTP.
I think that a lot of times the person who is making these choices doesn't think they are making them, because they're not aware of what they're doing. They don't know they're making decisions based on their personal bias. They may be unconsciously making decisions based on other things related to the character they're writing.
That could be a reason why it seems like a different type of character, but when we look at it, it looks like it is the same type of character.
For example, with Tanya from The Tribe, she clearly has some Ni traits, and some Ni traits are what we see in her personality. But she's written as an INFP.
