Harland personality type is ISTP, which is interesting because he’s not really ISTP or ISFJ. He’s probably an INFJ. He’s very introverted, has very little interest in people, hates people, is really weird, and has no social skills whatsoever. And yet he seems to have an ISTP-ish personality because he’s very calm and reserved. So I guess he’s an ISTP-ish INFJ. That’s the best I can do.
The ISTP-ist in me also likes that Harland is weirdly friendly to everyone, not just with their characters. He’s actually friendly with the people that are just extras in his life, which is kind of weird because if you look at his real life personas, he just has one weird friend who he gets to hang with two days a month or so, so it’s not really normal to have regular friend interactions with everyone, but he does it anyway. He goes out of his way to be kind to people who are just there to help push the wheels on the ship.
Harland is a ghoul working with the Bright Brotherhood at the REPCONN test site in 2281. Harland was separated from the rest of the Bright Brotherhood while fleeing from nightkin in the basement. He and another member of the Bright Brotherhood were running away, but his friend ran off to a deeper part of the basement. When the Courier finds Harland, he is set up in a defensive position on the second floor of the room and has already killed several nightkin. If asked how he survived for so long by himself, he claims to have lived off radroach meat, used the condensation off the pipes for water, and "does his business" in the far corner.
