Her experience has been incredibly positive. “I really enjoyed the performance aspect of it,” says Rosa. “I loved performing my songs for other people. I love giving people the chance to listen to my music. I would do anything to make someone feel better through music.”
Rosa first came to know about the program through her mother, who had attended the program as a student herself. “My mom took me to my first performance orientation when I was in elementary school,” says Rosa. “I remember that feeling, because I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I first saw the other students, I thought they were so much older than me, but after talking with them, I realized they were just as nervous as me.”
