When I began researching this book, I was already fascinated by the concept of personality types, but also by the idea that every individual is different. So, I asked myself: how can we describe the differences between all the different types?
One of the first things that struck me when I began my research is that there are so many different combinations of personality and type. Some people have very clear types, while others are harder to categorize.
I also realized that the strength of the connection between personality types and the resulting career choice is highly dependent on the context and on the individual. For example, someone who has a core type of ENFP and has chosen the career of an ENFP may be very successful and happy in that career choice. However, someone who has a core type of INFJ and has chosen an INFJ career may have a more difficult time finding their place in the world.
I thought of this as a science-fiction idea for many years, without taking it too seriously.
