After my run, I jumped into the shower to wash away the day. When I got out, I wrapped a towel around my hair and put on a fresh pair of jeans and a T-shirt, then went downstairs to grab a bowl of cereal. My mother was reading a book in the living room, and Harmony was sitting at the table with a bowl of cereal. She looked up as I entered the room.
“Good morning,” she said.
My mother looked up from her book and smiled at me. “You two look refreshed after that run.”
“Yeah. The exercise definitely feels good,” I said, then added, “Thanks for rushing me home last night.”
My mother nodded.
