Rytlock Brimstone personality type is ESTP, which is ENFP, which is why I think he's like the Princess Bride's Inigo Montoya. He's not a hero, he's a fighter, and he only fights to protect his friends and family. He wants to know what his purpose is, and he wants to fight for something. I think that's why he's not happy with this whole "hero" theme.
Like I said, I haven't gotten far enough to really say much more, but that's my theory so far.
