Septimus Warren Smith personality type is INFP, which is my favorite personality type.
In my mind, the Inferior function is usually paired with the Dominant function, which makes sense. If you have an INFP with a NF or NFJ, you can probably guess which function is dominant. However, I have a few INFPs who have a somatic inferior, and they don't fit the typical mold.
When I think of inferior function, I imagine a more ambiguous type who seems a little bit more… damaged. Sometimes they'll be a little bit more closed off to life, and sometimes they're free spirits. They're not as easily swayed by the emotional states of those around them.
Inferior Function: Introverted Feeling (Fi)
Introverted Feeling (Fi) is the inferior function of INFPs. Fi is also called the "dark side" – it's often associated with depression and misery. It's the function we use when we feel sad, we feel we're alone, and we'd prefer to be alone.
(Fun fact: Fi and Se are the only two functions that only take two letters. There's also only one letter between Se and Ni.)
