Elna Stongs personality type is ISTP, & I am just curious if anyone has any advice to help me with my dating problems. I am an ISTP and have difficulty being assertive & being a leader (or even a follower) in a relationship. I have tried to take advice from books, but they have only made my problems worse! I have been dating my boyfriend for almost 3 years, & he is probably my best friend. We met at work when we were both salespeople in the same company. He is a male ISTP and I am a female ISTP. We both are in sales for the same company & sometimes work together. I like him very much and he likes me, but he recently told me that he doesn't want to be in a relationship with me. He said that he thinks I'm too bossy, & he doesn't want to deal with my bossy attitude. He also said that I'm too controlling & don't let him do things his way. The problem is, I believe him when he says these things. He has never been in a relationship before and I am always the one who takes the lead & tells him what to do. He doesn't like that, because he feels like I am trying to control him.
