AM's Super Ego personality type is INTJ, and it's common for INTJs to have a lot of difficulty taking on the role of caregiver. This is because INTJs are driven to be the smartest person in the room and to be their own best judge of what they do and don't know. For an INTJ, it can be extremely difficult to accept that they have limitations and that their ideas don't work.
Many INTJs will unconsciously try to convince themselves that if they are really smart, they should be able to get out of doing anything that's hard, unpleasant, or boring. They may believe that they don't need to care for anyone but themselves.
INTJs who are caregivers often feel that they are not doing as good a job as they would like. They may feel guilty or ashamed of caring for others. They may feel that they are unable to care properly enough for those they love because of their own shortcomings.
At the same time, the INTJ may feel extremely guilty about not being able to manage themselves, and may view the role of caregiver as a form of martyrdom. They may feel that if they don't do everything for themselves, it makes them a bad person.
