A lot of people, especially when they are young, will have a desire to do certain things in life that they believe is "the correct way," and in a certain situation, they will a) find a way to rationalize it in their brain, and b) think that is "the correct way," even if it goes against the majority of their friends and family, etc. As a result, they will develop a fixed mindset, and they will perceive the world through a "black and white" lens. They will think of their self as being objectively good or bad, right or wrong, good or bad, etc. But in reality, everybody is different. There is no one right way to live your life. I think that most of us have a value system that we follow throughout our lives. And that value system a person follows in a given situation is based on their personality.
