Penny personality type is ENFP, but that's a type that I think is more common in fiction.
I'm not sure to what extent you're supposed to take that, though. Most of the characters in these novels are fictional, and our author has taken some liberties with their personalities. I think that's to be expected.
I don't have anything against fictional characters, but I do have a thing against the literary devices that these authors use to make their characters seem more real. I've never liked the idea of 'real', at least in fiction.
For example, I'm not impressed when people become 'jaded' from the world around them or 'fight back' against it. I agree with you that it's a good thing to fight back against things, but the way most authors write it, I find it really annoying.
I've found myself becoming more and more annoyed with these books as I've read them more and more. It's a real shame because, on paper, they are very good novels.
