On the other hand, personality types can also be defined in such a way that you could say that an ENFJ and an INFP would make a good couple, because the way they express their personality could be very different. This is what you're seeing in the movie. Esme just has a very different way of expressing her personality than Violet does -- you can't really say that Violet is an ENFJ or an INFP, because she just doesn't have that certain way of expressing her personality.
